Tracing your West Indian Ancestors
The West Indies feature in the family history of a great number of
people in the UK and around the world.
Great Britain was the key European power involved in the colonisation
of the West Indies, immigrants and slaves arrived from all over Europe,
India and Africa. After world war two many West Indians came to the
UK in search of a new life in response to post war labour shortages.
There is more information on West Indian immigration to Great Britain
on The National Archives website.
It is for these reasons that we have chosen "Tracing Your
West Indian Ancestors" by Guy Grannum as our next book
to review.
