General Register Office (GRO)

The General Register Office (GRO) holds records for all births, deaths and marriages registered in England and Wales from 1 July 1837, and adoptions and still-births from 1 July 1927, up to approximately 12 months ago, and certain events registered abroad. You can only obtain information from the entries by purchasing a certificate. You can only apply for certificates by post, fax or e-mail to the production site at Southport.
