Societies

The Scottish Association of Family History Societies includes all established
family history societies in Scotland, as well as several national and
regional bodies throughout the world. On the site you can look up contact
details of member societies and read the association news.
- Society of Genealogists

The Society of Genealogists is a charity whose objects are to "promote,
encourage and foster the study, science and knowledge of genealogy".
The library holds the widest collection of Parish Register copies in
the country as well as a large number of genealogies, local histories,
poll books and directories etc. The library is open to members and non-members
alike, but non-members have to pay a fee to use it. The website lists
the copies of parish registers held, opening times, a calendar of events,
lectures and family history fairs as well as news.
